Doug Carey named VP Business Development of Oloop, Inc.

San Francisco, CA - May 15, 2000

Oloop, Inc, developer of an online homeowners insurance center, announced today the appointment of Doug Carey as Vice President of Business Development. As Vice President of Business Development, Doug handles the development and implementation of all e-commerce/business partnerships. He will also lead expansion plans to build Oloop's staff and launch the site by year end.

"Doug's leadership, vision and years of experience in the real estate and internet field are a great asset as we implement our strategy."

Doug Carey has extensive business development and deal structure experience in both the online and offline arenas. He was most recently VP of e-commerce at Homeservices.com, the online division of the second largest residential real estate company in the US. Previously he was head of corporate development at Circon (NASDAQ: CCON), with deals including licensing, joint ventures, and mergers, both nationally and internationally. In his last assignment at Circon, he led the longest successful defense of a hostile takeover (25 months) and concluded by orchestrating the sale of the company to Maxxim Corp. (NASDAQ: MAM) for $240 million. Previously, he was founder and CEO of Tetrahex International, a structural technology company with worldwide licensing of over 25 patents. His background includes Andersen Consulting and Bear Sterns. Doug graduated first in a class of 10,000 from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Business, and received his MBA from Stanford in 1990.
